What are you responsible for?

Steering the company both financially and strategically.

How long have you been in the industry?

On the automotive product side, I’ve been in the auto industry my entire life. I grew up in my father’s stamping company for more than 40 years. The balance of our products are all fastener related with multiple markets which were new to me when I first started at Vogelsang.

How did you get where you are today?

Through a strong upbringing and being provided career opportunities that I excelled in which led to self-created opportunities outside of our family business.

Why did you choose Vogelsang?

I liked the new aspect of international business and a sizable challenge to improve a facility stuck in the 1960’s. Vogelsang was also very financially solidified with zero debt.

What are you most passionate about in business?

Results, results, results. I strive to improve one “thing” every day.

What is your favorite part of your job?

Mentoring to excel.

What is the single most important thing that differentiates you from competitors?

Extremely strong customer relationships. We cater to our customers needs and not the other way around.

What values define your work and/or interactions with customers?

Ethics and a strong will to take care of them (or their customer) first and worry about the responsibility/costs after resolution.

What would customers say they value most about working with you?

Results and ease of dealing with us. Most of our team has been with the company for more than 10 years so the customers really enjoy having that familiarity and bond with our employees.

What is your most memorable success story?

I am fortunate to have many, but mostly sharing a drink with a customer at 4am after he and I literally just completed personally running parts through the stamping process to meet a required build date.

What are you excited about right now?

A few things. We just recently entered the B2B e-commerce market after launching our new web-based storefront. Vogelsang is also bringing in an automated packaging line that will allow us to redistribute personnel to other areas of need.
