Each year Vogelsang Fastener participates in various community events and fundraisers as part of our mission to support and give back to our local communities. For the past several years, we have been coordinating donations and deliveries for Happy to Help, a nonprofit organization that provides families in need with food and household items throughout the year and especially during the holiday season.
The organization began five year ago with just 25 families, and as of last year was able to help over 200 families between Thanksgiving and Christmas alone.
Vogelsang National Sales Manager Nick Penney has been with the organization from the start, and had this to say about the fundraiser:
It is incredible watching the community come together to support one another. Each year the number of families in need increases. Each year the volunteers increase with adults and children helping in the process. The people who run this have huge hearts. I am humbled to be a small part of this team.

When he brought it to the attention of Jen Stuban, Director of Finance & Administration and the person responsible for vetting and approving Vogelsang’s community activities, she agreed that it was a worthwhile endeavor.
Vogelsang is well known both inside and outside of our organization for our family-orientated values. We strongly believe that our community is an extension of our family, and we take pride in helping where we can.
By cultivating an atmosphere of goodwill and community participation, we also help to build a more positive work environment where our employees can experience our commitment firsthand and enjoy the satisfaction of working together towards a common goal.
I personally participate in many community fundraisers and get great satisfaction from knowing that I helped make someone’s day just a little bit better.
Today, Vogelsang not only coordinates donations but participates in organizing and distributing the Thanksgiving meals, complete with turkey and full cooking instructions.

Thank you to everyone who has donated and helped out over the past couple of weeks. The past couple of days, there has been a lot of shopping, and I think we have wiped out every local Dollar Tree and some of the shelves at Walmart in the process. It’s sad to see the dramatic price increase on many items we collect and I am thankful for all of the support in making this happen.
